The most important feature of this chemical, which has different types such as HPMC and MHEC in the market, is its water retention capacity. It absorbs water from its environment and retains it for a certain period, thus allowing the working time of the mortar to be adjusted. This provides the opportunity to work for a longer period during application.
Cellulose ethers improve the consistency of the mortar, facilitate the troweling process, and are produced in different viscosity values according to need. Due to their modifications, they provide slip resistance to the mortar. During product selection, the appropriate cellulose type is determined based on Open Time test and tensile test results, in line with the desired properties.
